General Terms and Conditions

CONTRACT AND PAYMENT:

  • Payment can be made at the time of booking or before your arrival.
  • Either by Visa or Mastercard credit card (we have a remote sales agreement with the bank).
  • Or by bank check, 21 working days before your arrival.
  • On site upon your arrival and before taking charge of the vehicle, only by credit card or cash (Accepted cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express).
  • No payment by check is accepted as excess accidental damage guarantee. (See conditions)
  • The rental contract is made upon delivery of the vehicle.
  • The name appearing on the reservation file must be that of the main driver. They must be present when signing the contract and is the designated person to manage all rental costs.
  • The renter designated on the rental contract must be able, if necessary, at the request of the lessor or their representative, to provide their personal information (passport, identity card or any other document proving the authenticity of their personal information).
  • There may be 2 additional drivers upon payment of €10 for each additional driver and for the entire rental period.
  • Driver's licenses are mandatory for all vehicle rentals.
  • For non-European Union citizens, an international driver's license is strongly recommended to facilitate translation and must be accompanied by the national driver's license.
  • A credit card reference is mandatory for the accidental damage excess guarantee related to vehicle rental, mandatory taxes, additional options, or for any other costs not paid at the time of booking or due after the vehicle has been returned.
  • Insurance is included at the start of the rental, including a variable accidental damage excess according to the category of the rented vehicle, which remains the responsibility of the renter in case of damage caused to the rented vehicle (vehicle theft or damage caused).
  • It amounts to €1,500 for categories ABCDFE, and from €3,000 to €5,000 depending on the vehicle type for "Superior" or "Prestige" categories.
  • A reduced accidental damage excess can be applied upon payment of €10 additional charges per rental day, reducing the amount of accidental damage excess to €750 for categories ABCDFE, and €15 for "Superior" or "Prestige" categories, with the exception of "Prestige" vehicles benefiting from "comprehensive" insurance, without reduction of accidental damage excess.
  • Complete cancellation of accidental damage excess can be applied upon payment of €20 additional charges per rental day, only for vehicles in categories ABCDFE, "Superior" and "Prestige" category vehicles are excluded.
  • Premium credit cards such as Visa First and Business, Gold Mastercard and Business, Visa Infinite, Business Card and American Express Gold, Silver and Black, are exempt from additional insurance and cover the full amount of accidental damage excess if payment is made with one of these cards, and as such, necessarily before taking charge of the vehicle. This provision only concerns vehicles in categories ABCDFE, "Superior" or "Prestige" categories are excluded.

DELIVERIES - RETURNS - RESTITUTIONS - EQUIPMENT:

  • Vehicles are delivered in perfect working order, clean and with a full fuel tank.
  • A check of the general condition of the vehicle, its equipment and accessories is carried out and noted on the rental contract, at the start of the rental as well as upon return of the vehicle at the end of the rental period.
  • Missing fuel upon return of the vehicle will be charged for the difference, remaining the responsibility of the renter designated on the rental contract.
  • Baby and child seats, as well as booster seats, meeting EU standards are available for an additional €10 per rental.
  • All vehicles are equipped with a "Safety Kit" including a fluorescent vest and a warning triangle. If the "safety kit" is returned incomplete or lost, a penalty of €15 will be charged upon return of the vehicle.
  • All vehicles are delivered with a spare tire and its tools, or equipped with a "repair and inflation kit". If any of the elements or all of its equipment is missing upon return of the vehicle, they will be replaced upon payment of a detailed invoice paid or charged to the designated renter mentioned on the rental contract.
  • The same applies to vehicles equipped with "anti-theft nuts" and a removable cap located under the spare tire which, in case of loss, will require the replacement of all protections attached to the 4 wheels of the rented vehicle, the replacement of this equipment will be carried out upon payment of a detailed invoice paid or charged to the designated renter mentioned in the rental contract.
  • A flat-rate supplement of €20 will also be applied to vehicles returned in a very messy state inside (inside and in the vehicle trunk).
  • Vehicle delivery and return are free 7 days a week and until 8:00 PM.
  • After 8:00 PM, additional charges for exceptional transfer will be applied depending on the duration of the requested mission and charged according to a flat rate of €20 for long-distance transfer outside the agency.
  • The same applies to reservations for which the arrival time or destination agreed upon during booking would be postponed and which would not be sufficiently notified in advance, preventing the latter from carrying out its reception mission under the initially concluded booking conditions.
  • Under these conditions, a supplement of €20 per hour of transfer will then be applied for the new transfer or new journey to be set up.

CANCELLATION:

  • In case of cancellation within 48 hours, one day of rental will be charged at the normal rate of the day to which the previously reserved vehicle belongs.
  • Started rentals are neither refunded nor credited in case the designated renter terminates the contract concluded between them and SARL GOLFE CAR RENTAL, the totality of the rents remaining acquired by SARL GOLFE CAR RENTAL.
